We sometimes take for granted the protections the Union provides for us on the job, and the difference a Union can make in the way we are treated at work. Sometimes it’s worth reminding ourselves, and others, what things would be like without a Union.

Labor unions are organizations in which employees bond together to create a collective voice for negotiations with employers. While some view labor unions as a negative, they actually can have several positive effects on the labor market in general. They can help both employers and employees, if they are utilized correctly.

A labor union is an organization that acts as an intermediary between its members and the business that employ them. The main purpose of labor union is to give workers the power to negotiate for more favorable working conditions and other benefits through collective bargaining.

Non-Union

If you don’t have a union in your workplace, you don’t have guaranteed wages, health benefits or a secure pension. You are an “at-will” employee. You check your rights at the door, and your employer can fire you or change your conditions of employment at any time and for almost any reason.

YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS!!
